Tanja Benedict: Give me a problem,
I find a solution
Medicine was too monosyllabic for her, German studies too polysyllabic: as a corporate lawyer and authorized signatory, Dr. Tanja Benedict has found her calling at iL. The 56-year-old native of Heidelberg is an integrator, family person and linguistic genius all rolled into one. "Languages transport culture," says Tanja, who has been an integral part of the cohesive, "passionate" InnovationLab team for 14 years now.

Who are You are?
I was born in Heidelberg, which was too small for me for a long time. With my family and children, I enjoy living in this city full of people who look out into the world with curiosity and which has a lot to offer culturally and geographically.
What does you with your work at the InnovationLab most most fun?
The variety, no boredom through repetition, a passionate team and meeting inspiring people from science, business and politics.

The right contracts at the right time
How explain you then someone non-specialist your activity in understandable language?
Enabling developments from ideas and inventions. My job is to support the development of technologies in such a way that the individual development phases can take place successfully and quickly and that they have a chance of surviving as a product on the market. This requires the right contracts at the right time, and sometimes no contract at all, but other forms of networking.
Which skills/core competencies are required required?
Networked and economic thinking, recognition of hurdles and risks, pragmatic yet resilient solutions and knowledge of human nature.
Are are there personal goals, that you in near future in the near future?
Accompanying a project in Life Science Technologies that will be used in clinical treatment. In a way, I might still be able to make a difference in medicine, which was originally my wish after graduating from high school - and with role models in my family.
What do you in your free time passionately with pleasure - what are are you?
Spending time with my family, reading, swimming, playing the piano and learning languages.

The microscope as a means of observation

Under the apple tree in the hammock.
In the morning after opening the windows: "What a wonderful sunny day!" (if it's sunny) - "I can't wait to see what the day has prepared for me today!"
Which invention of mankind celebrate are you celebrating?
The microscope. Almost everything is exciting if you take a closer look. The microscope makes it possible to observe human cells more closely.
