At the latest lounge of the BioRN life science cluster at Urban Kitchen Heidelberg, we presented ourselves as one of the youngest members of the network. "iL is looking for networking and exchange in the field of life science technologies," says Managing Director Dr Michael Kröger, "we perceive BioRN as a very well organized, established platform with exciting partners."
In a brief introduction, Kröger presented InnovationLab to the BioRN members as a joint venture between the five shareholders Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, BASF, SAP, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Heidelberg University, and as a bridge builder, incubator and technology transfer platform with over 6,000 square meters of biology laboratories, clean rooms and offices.
An exciting presentation by Tobias Dölle from SPRIN-D - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen rounded off the evening. "I was really impressed by how SPRIN-D supports start-ups in crossing the Valley of Death with their innovations and solving the most pressing problems of our time," continued Michael Kröger.
InnovationLab is already looking forward to the next BioRN Lounge, which will take place on June 25 (7 p.m., Urban Kitchen). Jürgen Hesser from the University Medical Center Mannheim will be speaking on the topic of "Model-Based Machine Learning in the Health and Life Sciences".
