FLEXOO premiere at the LOPEC
It is the world's leading international platform for printed electronics: year after year, LOPEC (Large-area, Organic & Printed Electronics Convention) attracts players from all continents, from application to research, to the high-tech metropolis of Munich. Following the traditional participation of InnovationLab GmbH, our spin-off FLEXOO GmbH celebrated its premiere in the Isar metropolis this year.
Dr. Janusz Schinke: Relaunch has been well received
"For our company, our presence at this trade fair is both an obligation and an honor. With our presence and team on site, we have impressively demonstrated that we are ready for mass production. We are setting off into the future of FLEXOO with a fresh design and a new way of being. The positive feedback on the relaunch was one thing, the high recognition value of our customers and partners was another. We were really pleased about that."

After a total of three days at the International Congress Center of Messe München (ICM), which hosted a total of 176 exhibitors from 28 nations and attracted over 2,400 visitors from 48 countries, the FLEXOO team went home satisfied. The first public appearance of the iL spin-off start-up can be considered a success. "Our stand was open, inviting and colourful," reports Dr Florian Ullrich, Head of Business Development at FLEXOO, "we had a lot of conversations and, thanks to the visualization of the applications, we were able to convince many of the interested parties that our work is characterized by quality, flexibility and quantity in production."
Whether it was the BaMoS demonstrator (Battery Monitoring Solution) or the themed showcases such as antennas, flex PCBs (flexible printed circuit boards), large area sensors, heating elements and the display of differently printed rolls - all in all, the exhibition products proved to be eye-catchers, generating a good number of leads in Munich.

Dr. Florian Ullrich praises the teamwork
"Everything went smoothly. My thanks go to all my colleagues who did an excellent job in the run-up to the fair, but also during the fair itself," says Florian Ullrich.
The last few weeks before LOPEC in particular had developed into a veritable "par force ride". The logo, website, business cards, presentations etc. had to be ready by the beginning of March. Joanna Folberth, Head of Marketing, and marketing student Laura Scheffner worked together with external agencies to create a professional image. Janusz Schinke reports on an encounter with a potential customer in anecdotal fashion. "If you work as quickly on projects as your marketing team has in recent weeks, I'll be very impressed," said this candidate to the FLEXOO Managing Director. "That's our usual pace," returned Janusz Schinke with a wink.

Two presentations at the congress
Away from the day-to-day business at the upbeat FLEXOO stand BO.406, Dr. Christoph Kaiser and Dr. Jean-Nicolas Tisserant gave two presentations to a packed audience at the accompanying electronics industry congress. Both the structure ("FLEXOO - your product, our mission") of Christoph Kaiser's new company and Jean-Nicolas Tisserant's presentation ("Prime Mode - piezoresistive pressure sensor") highlighted advances in the possibility of using printed electronics to perform quantitative and differentiated pressure measurements. The important message here was that FLEXOO, as an iL spin-off, continues to dedicate itself to scientific and technical excellence almost unchanged.
LOPEC in brief
FLEXOO was one of the 176 exhibitors at LOPEC 2024 in the ICM. 60 percent of them came from abroad. In addition to Germany, the top 5 exhibiting countries this time were the USA, France, Sweden and Spain. More than 2,400 visitors from 48 countries and regions flocked to Messe München from March 5 to 7, with around 55 percent coming from abroad. The top 5 visitor countries besides Germany were Austria, France, Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Finland, as the organizers reported.
The date for the next LOPEC has also already been set: From February 25 to 27, 2025 (trade fair: February 26 and 27), Munich will once again be the venue for innovative technologies and knowledge transfer in the exciting electronics industry.
